Alpha Nail

Alpha Nail is described as a "war paint" for alpha men. They have two collections with a variety of colors in hyper-masculine names. They make it known that Alpha Nail is not for the effeminate male. All of their advertised men are shooting guns, boxing, mechanics, musicians or jocks.

There is a starter kit available for 11.95 where you can choose an alpha nail pen and 2 packs of clean slate wipes (which are acetone free cotton pads for nail polish removal) or you can choose a "Welcome Matte" pack or a "Heavy Metals" pack, where you get three nail pens and two packs of Clean Slate wipes for 29.95.

Matte Collection:
Burnin Rubber
Smoke
Concrete
Cocaine
Benjamins

Metallic Collection:
Pirate Gold
Deep Ocean
Celtic Silver
Gasoline
Midnight

On their website it states, "It is a statement... a proclamation of the inner attitude of the alpha. It is about having the confidence that says ‘I am my own man, and will decide the rules for how I live my life according to how I see fit"

How do my alluring readers feel about it?

Ginger + Liz

I randomly went to a blog today: I Have A Degree In This and saw that she mentioned a Company called Ginger + Liz, to my surprise it's a nail lacquer site! Now, I am behind the times because they apparently have been out since 2009. They are the "original vegan friendly nail lacquer made for style setters". I am extremely excited that I stumbled upon them because the colors are gorgeous and the names are even better!

They are $12/bottle, which is not the most expensive nail polish I've seen (I recently bought Deborah Lippmann's Cleopatra In New York for 18. Azature retails for 25 and Tom Ford for 30) Anywho, these six nail lacquers are my favorite from Ginger + Liz.

While the descriptions on the website do not always define the lacquers for exactly what they are, i'll do my best to give a good interpretation if they have not provided one.

1. Investment Piece : looks like a fine copper glitter in a very sheer copper base or a clear base.
2. Bitch Fit: A hot neon pink creme
3. Not On The First Date: Taupe creme with lavender undertones
4. High Maintenance: Sheer glossy pink with reflective crystal glimmer
5. High Waisted: A midnight blue with a shiny creme finish
6. Mix 'n Mingle: a dense fine gold glitter laquer

The last two lacquers are my favorite from the G + L collection and I think that they will look amazing apart and even better together!

Julep IT GIRL Intro Box: Swatches

Otte: A rich camel creme from the Trina Turk Fall '12 Collection

Daphne: Smoky sea foam green Creme

Julep IT GIRL Intro Box

This is my first Julep Maven box, and I am currently waiting on two more boxes, the Classic With A Twist Intro Box and the Get The Look Box. I apologize for the quality of the images, my camera isn't charged and I was just really excited to put these up, so i used my phone!

The two little pots with the Julep logo on them are actually Glitter Pots. They are applied onto the nail while your polish is still wet and then a top coat goes over that. I'm a little scared to try these just because while researching other blogs, I have yet to see the glitter applied well. So, if any of my Alluring Readers have any tips, please feel free to share!

Otte: Trina Turk Fall '12 rich camel neutral crème
Daphne: Smoky Seafoam Green creme
Delaunay: Trina Turk Fall '12 chili pepper red crème.

Now, all of the polishes look exactly like they do on the website, which is a great thing. However, when I read the descriptions, i had the notion in my head that they were going to look slightly different. Otte is not as nude as I thought it was going to be, it has more of a greenish/brown undertone. Daphne, in my opinion is not a seafoam green but more of a teal with a grey undertone. Delaunay is my favorite from this box, it's very rich and gorgeous but I thought it was going to be a tad brighter. Cremes are my absolute favorite type of nail polish but I am very excited to receive Julep's glitter, shimmer, frost and suede polishes. All in All, I am in love with these!
