Trend Alert: The Simple Strappy Sandal

This trend was actually all the rage during Spring. However, I think it's definitely something that can transcend into Autumn. The simplicity of the sandals gives any outfit a more polished look. You could definitely wear these to a corporate business meeting or to a casual brunch with a bunch of your girlfriends. I know that platform heels aren't exactly "in" right now, but I included a pair any way because I, personally, love them and think that they are so much more comfortable than flat soled heels.

Leather Look Inspiration

Leather, faux leather, leatherette and vegan leather are big trends for Fall. And, you know what I'm going to say, I'M OBSESSED. I love that this trend is spreading like wildfire. What I don't like is that designers will not let the leather speak for itself! Because leather has always been seen as rocker chic, it is always adorned with spikes or some other type of hardware. Leather can honestly be taken in any direction from grungy to elegant, so let the people dress it up or dress it down the way they want. I recently saw a man that was wearing a simplistic leather buttondown (no hardware...even the buttons were a basic black) and I wanted to crawl all over him.
Less is more.

Ulyana Sergeenko A/W 2013

People that know me well, and even the people that don't, know that Ulyana Sergeenko is my all time favorite designer. She is a walking oxymoron, everything that is modern and vintage at the same time. Like the smell of chimney smoke on a cold winter's night, she evokes memories that you didn't know you had. You crave her just by looking at photos of her work. Quite simply, she's amazing.

I want her to create a custom wedding dress for me. Hopefully, when the time comes I'll be able to afford her.

The only similarity from this line and her 2012 collection is the utter femininity.

I only included my favorites which, unsurprisingly, almost the entire collection!

Style Saturday: Bodiless Summer

I know this isn't a conventional Style Saturday, but I wanted to try something different! I think this outfit embodies Summer! It's just not on my body. The colors are bright and the heels are high, it's everything that's good about these horrid three months: Bold, bright, form fitting and sexy. Let me know if you like this kind of style saturday, so I can include then in addition to my OOTD Style Saturdays.

Anticipating Autumn

I don't know about anyone else but I hate summer. I know to some people that sounds insane. I hate the heat, I hate sweating, I hate frizzy hair, I hate oily skin, I hate limited fashion, I hate insects, I hate melting makeup, I hate soup-like climate...everything that comes with summer. I barely tolerate Spring. I was born in Winter, nevertheless, I get tired of it after awhile, especially if it snows. However, Autumn...oh, Autumn...is my baby. I live for Autumn. Minimal insects, amazing climate especially in October, gorgeous layered fashion, your hair stays snatched and your makeup stays flawless. At the beginning of Autumn you can still wear your shorts, tanks and sandals: at the end of Autumn you can wear thigh high boots, trench coats, and thick sweaters. Everything is right with the world.

Style Saturday: The Blues is Easy to Play...

These photos are a couple of years old, and I feel like in the present I would have styled this differently (and I have) with a blazer, a skinny belt, and simple strappy heels. Let's bask in that outfit for a second. Ah, and moving along.

Toddler Tailleur: ZARA edition

My niece's first birthday is next month and I'm always obsessed with buying her cute clothes. I buy them for 18 month olds and older so that she won't grow out of them quickly (and also because dressing toddlers is way more fun). All of these pieces are from ZARA which is one of my favorite stores for kids and adults! They even have a home store.

Are you all as obsessed with toddler clothes as I am?
